Description
Fabeaceae Piscum sativum
Picton Sno Peas are an old heritage line of peas that produce prolific crops of tasty sno peas. Grows up to 1.8m tall. Bi-colour purple flowers. Excellent eating pea with a round full pod that kids love eating straight from the plant.
Growing Conditions
Sow Pea seeds in the months of March, April, May, August and September if you live in the warmer parts of New Zealand. In colder places, plant out in spring after starting off indoors. Peas are frost tender so will not do well if there is a risk of frost.
Give your peas something to climb up. We use bamboo stakes to create rows or circles and then use small twigs and branches to give the peas something to grip on to when they are first starting to climb.
Nurture Earth Seeds
